Once again we are returning to this very beautiful part of the UK which has always proved to be extremely popular. We will be cruising from Rosslare at 0900 and our overnight stop in both directions is the 3 star Webbington Hotel and Country club. This hotel is on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, overlooking the picturesque hamlet of Loxton. The Webbington is an elegant country house hotel with great character. www.webbingtonhotelandspa.co.uk
As usual we are staying in the 3 star Barrowfield hotel in Newquay, Cornwall. The hotel is ideally situated just 200 yards from the seafront yet close enough to the beautiful beaches of Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne and the rugged Cornish coastline yet only a five minute walk to Newquay’s Town Centre. It has its own heated indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna and over the years our clients have enjoyed the live entertainment every evening.
We depart by executive coach from Gorey, Enniscorthy, Wexford and then on to catch the 0900 sailing from Rosslare to Pembroke in South Wales. Our afternoon stop is in South Wales. Our overnight stop is in the Webbington Hotel and Country Club. Dinner at the Hotel.
After a hearty English breakfast we head south through Britain's largest Gorge, Cheddar Gorge with its dramatic cliffs rising 450ft. We will have a refreshment stop in the famous Cathedral town of Wells. Our lunchtime stop in the beautiful city of Exeter in Devon. We then travel to the Barrowfield Hotel in Newquay where we will be staying for the next 4 nights. Dinner every night will be in the Hotel.
Today is a free day for you to explore the delights that Newquay has to offer. Newquay has wonderful coastlines; spectacular beaches washed clean by the Atlantic Ocean; rock pools teeming with marine life; crystal-clear sea for a leisurely swim, soaring cliffs with magnificent views; and delightful gardens for tranquil strolls. This beach town has a plethora of gift shops and intriguing little shops along the pedestrianised shopping area.
After breakfast we travel to the world famous Eden project. Located in a 50 metre deep crater the size of 30 football pitches and beautifully sculpted to make a spectacular and unique global garden. It is home to the world’s largest greenhouse. The Humid Tropics Biome is home to the tallest rainforest canopy, a botanists paradise. Discover here the tropical plants found in the products you use every day and understand the ways in which they are managed for a positive future for us all. The slightly smaller of the two greenhouses is home to the plants of the Mediterranean, South Africa and California. Our afternoon stop is in the picturesque Cornish fishing village of Charlestown. We then return to our hotel for dinner.
After breakfast we travel to Penzance Bay, which is dominated, by the historical island of St. Michael’s mount. St Michael’s mount is an island community, a working harbour and also an ancestral home. Our afternoon stop is in the beautiful fishing village of St. Ives, with its stunning beaches and is a haven for artists from all over the world. We then return to our hotel late afternoon for dinner.
After breakfast we say farewell to Cornwall and head north along the Cornish and Devonshire coast to our lunchtime stop in the north Devon market town of Barnstaple. This is an authentic unspoiled town full of small traditional shops and family owned restaurants. We then head through the rural countryside of Somerset for our overnight stop at The Webbington Hotel. Dinner tonight at the hotel
After a final English breakfast we travel back with a late morning stop in South Wales. Our return ferry is from Pembroke at 1430 hours and we expect to arrive back in Rosslare at 1800 hours.
Please note that this is our planned itinerary but sometimes due to circumstances outside our control we may have to alter it slightly.
